Gemma Ali is a passionate advocate for the well-being of animals in the context of the Halal industry, boasts an impressive educational background and a wealth of experience in Livestock Science and Animal Welfare.

With a solid foundation in academia, Gemma holds a BSc in Livestock Science and MSc in Animal Welfare and Conservation which laid the groundwork for their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of animals within the Halal sector.

Currently, Gemma is on an inspiring journey as a Doctorate in Agriculture student. Their doctoral research is focused on furthering the understanding and implementation of animal welfare standards within the Halal industry, making an invaluable contribution to the field of livestock production.

Beyond their academic achievements she has founded the Halal Animal Welfare Association and Halal Livestock Welfare Consultancy. These organisations represent the embodiment of their commitment to bridging the gap between traditional farming practices and contemporary animal welfare principles.

Her specialisms lie in various aspects of livestock production including Health and Welfare, Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Behaviour, Animal Nutrition, and Biosecurity. Level 2 - Halal and Tayyib Livestock Production

Course Duration

16 hours of lectures over 4 weeks (Including a break for Salah and lunch). PLUS 12 hours of hands on work experience on a voluntary basis arranged by the attendee (proof of completion from the employee will need to be provided).

  • 10:00- 14:00 – GMT (UK)x 4 (1 day per week)

12 hours of hands on experience to be completed when conveient to the attendee – sign off cannot be given until both elements are completed.
