The Islamic Economy Academy successfully concluded the 5th International Halal
Conference, held virtually from March 28th to April 5th, 2024. Under the overarching theme
of “Understanding and Implementing Ethical Frameworks in the Global Halal Economy,”
The conference was organised under the esteemed patronage of the Standards and
Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), this landmark event convened
visionaries, scholars, and industry leaders from across the globe.


Amidst the sacred month of Ramadan, participants from 30 countries converged online,
demonstrating a collective commitment to advancing the principles of integrity and ethics
within the Halal ecosystem. The conference served as a vital platform for dialogue,
collaboration, and knowledge exchange, fostering a deeper understanding of ethical
imperatives in Halal industry.


With a distinguished lineup of 25 expert speakers, the conference showcased diverse
perspectives and insights from thought leaders in the Halal industry. These luminaries
shared their expertise, addressing critical issues and ways to implement Ethics in the global Halal economy. From regulatory frameworks, use of technology to sustainability,
discussions explored multifaceted dimensions aimed at ensuring ethical standards and
sustainable growth.
